The purpose of the Corporation is to promote biotechnology for the benefit of the citizens of Somerset County and the State of Maine; to acquire and manage properties in furtherance of such development; to create a favorable business atmosphere for existing biotechnology enterprises and industries; to own and operate incubator and educational facilities; and to carry out these goals within the scope of its legal corporate powers. The Corporation will coordinate with the State of Maine Applied Technology Centers Board, the Maine Technology Institute, the Biotechnology Association of Maine, the Somerset Economic Development Corporation and the various towns of Somerset County, the Kennebec Council of Governments (KVCOG) and other entities to achieve these goals.
